Summary
Every Taxwift fee is a fee for our service. It is not a tax payment, and it never depends on the size of your refund. Below is when each fee can be refunded and how credits work.
2027 season reservation ($29 deposit)
- The full $29 is credited to the preparation package you choose.
- You can cancel and get the $29 back at any time until you upload your documents. After that, the deposit is credited to your package and is no longer refundable on its own.
Specialist consultation ($49, 30 minutes)
- You choose a time and pay when you book.
- If you cancel or reschedule through the link in your booking confirmation at least 24 hours before the appointment, you can reschedule or receive a full refund.
- A consultation that has taken place, or one missed without notice, is not refundable.
Preparation packages (W-2 Essential, Self-employed)
- Before preparation starts, you can cancel and receive a full refund of what you paid, minus any reservation deposit that was already non-refundable.
- Self-employed deposit ($99): if you decline the quote you receive after document review, the deposit is refunded.
- After your return has been prepared and shared with you for review, the fee is not refundable.
Federal extension ($59)
- Refundable until Form 4868 is submitted. After it is submitted, it is not refundable.
How to request a refund
Write to us through the contact page with the email you used to pay and the service you booked. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. Your bank may take several business days to show them.
Credits
Credits described on this website are credits against Taxwift service fees. They are not IRS tax credits and do not increase your tax refund. A credit applies once, to the matching order.
